“In 2008, the NHRA O’Rielly Jr Dragster Challenge at both tracks has been scheduled for November so my staff decided to start another special annual event for our Jr Dragster racers that would be held earlier in the year”, said Todd Dickinson, Owner of both Sunshine Dragstrip and Bradenton Motorsports Park. “We were encouraged by the great turn out and enthusiasm at both tracks for the event and look forward to holding a larger and better Jr Dragster Gold Cup Classic event in 2009”, continued Dickinson.

Both tracks contest 3 categories for Jr Dragsters. The winner and runner up of each category received a special ‘Gold Cup’ trophy and a custom embroidered shirt.

After the dust settled Saturday night in Bradenton Novice racer Donnie Wallace showed his skills as the winner at both Sunshine and Bradenton in his class. Another impressive weekend showing was from Intermediate racer Siena Scigliuto pulling out a runner up at both Sunshine and Bradenton in her class.

The staff at Bradenton Motorsports Park and Sunshine Dragstrip wishes to congratulate the winners, runner ups and thank all the participants for supporting the Gold Cup Classic event.
